Hang the Saints
Let them burn!
Leave them unburied!
Let them hang!
All of you, men of virtue, believers, holy men
Hypocrites, parsons, with fingers in pants of children
With your robes, golden crosses, fancy hats - soulless rats
Let the peasants starve to death, while drinking wine, no more
Chasing us, heathens, non-believers, free men
Inquisitions, ordeals, witch-hunts
For innocents
All of you!
"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live
Let them die in childbirth
Wicked heretics must be burned without pity
Loathe they are to confess without torture
Thou hast condemned us justly
And blind faith remained alone
To lull the trusting heart
As heaven would send a sign no more."
Let them burn!
Leave them unburied!
Let them hang!

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
